winter weather update

Categories: Streets & Sanitation

The Winter Weather Advisory posted for the Sheboygan area continues through 6:00 p.m. this evening with predicted snow fall of 2-5 inches.

The City of Sheboygan Department of Public Works (DPW) crews have been out since 10:30 a.m. predominately plowing and treating the primary traveled streets with anti-icing materials. During periods of heavy snowfall, plow truck operators remain focused on keeping these high traffic streets open.

Department of Public Works crews have been scheduled this evening to complete plowing of all neighborhood streets including dead-ends and cul-de-sacs that may not yet have been addressed. Crews will continue to work overnight until all City streets have been cleared.

To ensure clear streets, residents can assist the Department by following these guidelines;

  • If possible, park vehicles off-street in driveways.
  • Follow overnight winter parking regulations by alternating parking. Remember; “Park for Tomorrow”.
  • Do not blow or shovel snow back into the street.
  • Please allow room for the plow trucks to work safely by staying back a minimum of 75 feet from all DPW plow trucks.

The DPW appreciates everyone’s patience as the plow truck drivers work to clear the streets.
