Road Closures - Highland Terrace (North 8th Street to North 6th Street) and North 7th Street

Categories: Streets & Sanitation, Engineering, Facilities & Traffic

Construction on Highland Terrace (North 8th Street to North 6th Street) and North 7th Street (North Avenue to dead-end) will begin on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. The closure is necessary for a street construction project that will include the milling of the asphalt and concrete pavement, various curb and gutter replacements, and asphalt paving of the street surface.

Highland Terrace (North 8th Street to North 6th Street) and North 7th Street (North Avenue to dead-end) will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the project. Local traffic will continue to have access during the majority of the project. A full street closure will be required on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 during the pavement milling operation and is expected to remain in place for one to two days. Placement of the new asphalt pavement will require a future road closure. A date for this closure has not been scheduled.

The work on Highland Terrace and North 7th Street is scheduled to be complete in June of 2023.

All work and traffic impacts are weather-dependent and subject to change.

The City of Sheboygan understands the inconveniences experienced during road construction and appreciates everyone’s patience and cooperation as we work to complete this project. Please use caution and slowdown in construction zones.
