Arbor Day Celebration

Categories: Parks & Forestry

The City of Sheboygan Department of Public Works will be celebrating Arbor Day on Friday April 28, 2023.

The Mayor and the City Forester will discuss the many benefits of trees and the City’s longstanding dedication to maintaining a diverse urban forest. This year for Arbor Day, the Department’s Parks & Forestry Division and a group of 3rd graders will be planting 20 juniper trees at Jaycee Park. This planting will help beautify the park, while adding benefits to the disc golf course. Be sure to bring your own disc along so you can enjoy the course after the tree planting is finished. This year the City is celebrating 45 years of being designated “Tree City USA” by the Arbor Day Foundation and 3 years designated a “Tree City of the World”. We are the longest-running in all of Wisconsin for both of these designations.

This is an outdoor event and is open to the public. The event will be located at Jaycee Quarry Park, 3401 Calumet Drive in Sheboygan on April 28, 2023 starting at 10:00 AM and going until noon.

We look forward to seeing you there!
