New Neighborhood Fenced-in Dog Park is Open to the Public!

The City started a Pet Friendly Taskforce in 2020 to adopt the “Better Cities for Pets Initiative.” As a result of the taskforce, ordinances were changed to allow dogs in several city parks and it requested budgeting in the city’s five-year plan for three smaller neighborhood fenced in dog parks.

Two of the three dog parks just opened. You can now bring your dog to The Barking Lot, located just at the corner of North 9th Street and Center Avenue, west of City Hall and behind Parking Utility Lot 6. This is a community dog exercise area open daily from 4:00 am until 11:00 pm and free to the public. Please be sure to review the rules before letting your dog play at The Barking Lot.
