The City of Sheboygan Department of Public Works prepares for a spring snowfall. The National Weather Service has posted a Winter Weather Advisory for Sheboygan area beginning Saturday (3-25-23) at 4:00 am through Saturday (3-25-23) 1:00 pm. The approaching weather system is predicted to bring 3” to 6” of snowfall.

This weather system will impact travel Saturday morning as periods of heavy snowfall and hazardous travel conditions are anticipated.

The Department of Public Works plow crews are being scheduled for early Saturday morning. Please keep in mind, during periods of heavy snowfall, plow truck operators will remain focused on keeping the primary / heavily traveled streets clear, meaning secondary streets such as neighborhood streets may not be plowed immediately during the event. Final cleanup will be completed once the snowfall subsides.

Please be patient, the Departments plow trucks cannot be everywhere at once and work to clear all City streets will take some time.

Following these guidelines will aid the Department in snow clearing operations:

  • Plan accordingly. If you need to be traveling somewhere, please slow down!
  • Park vehicles off-street (driveways) if possible.
  • Follow overnight winter parking regulations by alternating parking. Remember; “Park for Tomorrow”.
  • Do not blow or shovel snow back into the street.
  • Be good a neighbor and clear sidewalk within 48 hours after the snow stops falling.
  • Keep our plow truck drivers safe and on the road by providing 75 feet clearance so they are able to safely remove the snow.

SLOW DOWN AND USE CAUTION WHILE TRAVELING
