Vollrath Park Disc Golf Course Reopening

Categories: Parks & Forestry

In response to Wisconsin’s “Safer at Home” Emergency Order #28, the City of Sheboygan will open the Vollrath Park disc golf course on 4/24/20. Both Vollrath Park and Jaycee Park courses are now open with the following restriction: social distancing requirements must be observed at all times unless the players reside in the same living unit or household.

The Order also states that public parks and open spaces may be closed at the discretion of local health officials if any of the following occur:

1. The number of people frequenting the area at one time makes it difficult to comply with the social distancing requirements.

2. Repeated vandalism or disturbing of the peace.

3. Repeated violations of the “Safer at Home” Order that create a risk to an individual in the area.

4. The local government does not have the ability to monitor or enforce social distancing requirements.

At this time the following park areas remain closed: playgrounds, picnic shelters, park restrooms, team sports activities, and other areas where maintaining appropriate social distancing is difficult. The City of Sheboygan is urging park and trail users to practice social distancing, keep a six-foot distance from other park users, consider wearing fabric face masks, and not gather in groups.
