Name That Truck! Community Contest

The City of Sheboygan Department of Public Works is thrilled to announce the launching of “Name That Truck!”, a community contest for residents to participate in an engaging and creative opportunity to name the City’s fleet of trucks. At Public Works, we have a large fleet of trucks and other vehicles that our crews use to get the job done. From garbage trucks and sweepers, to dump trucks and plows, we've got just about every type of machine it takes to clean the streets, prune the trees, and improve our roadways.

We are asking the community to find the perfect names for a few of our hard-working trucks. The three primary types of trucks that need names are the Public Works garbage trucks, sweepers, and dump trucks, which also double as plow trucks during the winter months. Now through Friday, August 1, 2025, the community is encouraged to submit their own unique truck name ideas.

This contest is open to all community members. The names submitted must be on topic, with nothing offensive or derogatory. Please submit one name entry per each truck type. The winners will have their winning truck name featured on a real Public Works truck, plus the opportunity to have their photo taken with the truck receiving their winning name.

To submit your ideas, please visit https://forms.office.com/g/w7gKyMKtwV or scan the QR code. Be sure to also be on the lookout for the “Name That Truck!” signs on the Public Works trucks in the City’s Freedom Fest parade on July 4th to cast your votes! The City looks forward to reviewing the entries and announcing the winning truck names.
