On Friday April 25, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, the City of Sheboygan will be celebrating Arbor Day at Jaycee Quarry Park, located at 3401 Calumet Drive. A group of 5th graders will be assisting the Department of Public Works with tree planting. This tree planting will help beautify the park, while adding benefits to the disc golf course.
This year, the City is celebrating 47 years of being designated “Tree City USA” by the Arbor Day Foundation and five years designated a “Tree City of the World”. New tree planting is just one of the many ways the City has maintained the status of the longest-running in all of Wisconsin for both of these designations.
Mayor Ryan Sorenson will discuss the many benefits of trees and the City’s longstanding dedication to maintaining a diverse urban forest. The City Forester will also demonstrate and discuss proper tree planting techniques.
This is an outdoor event and open to the public. A detailed event map for this event, to include parking areas, tree planting location, and access to the tree planting location, has been included. Please consider joining us for our upcoming Arbor Day Celebration at Jaycee Quarry Park. We look forward to seeing you there!
Is there a pothole that you would like to see fixed? Or a city tree that needs to be trimmed?
