Beach Closings and Advisories

Reminder to check for beach closings and advisories before heading out to enjoy swimming in Lake Michigan. Every year thousands of people safely enjoy swimming in Wisconsin waters. The DNR and local health officials monitor water at public beaches on a regular basis to protect public health.

Fall Leaf Collection on Schedule

The fall leaf collection program runs from October 6th through November 26th, 2025.

Crews will be working diligently to maintain the schedule for leaf collection and citizens are encouraged to make sure their leaves are placed curbside for their scheduled day for pickup. Delays may occur due to the heavy leaf fall or winter operations and we appreciate your patience.

Swim and Rip Current Risk

Reminder to check for beach hazards and forecasts before heading out to enjoy swimming in Lake Michigan. Beach forecasts contain a daily swim risk, which is based on that day's threat of high waves and dangerous currents. Beach hazard statements provide additional details on high swim risk days.
