Facilities and Traffic Division

The Facilities and Traffic Division is responsible for maintaining all City building grounds and the Civil Defense Warning system. The Division is also responsible for the design, maintenance, and repair of all City-owned traffic control systems, street lights, signs, markings, and devices.

FACILITIES & TRAFFIC DIVISION FUNCTIONS

The City of Sheboygan has approximately 30,000 signs, ranging from stop signs, street name signs, speed limit signs, no parking signs, and custom signs. All City of Sheboygan signs are designed, fabricated, and installed by City Staff.

There are 39 signalized intersections, seven red flashing signals, and two yellow flashing signals within the City of Sheboygan. In addition to the traffic signals, the City owns and maintains over 2,700 street lights, 505 pathway lights, parking lot lights, and 1,380 lights in our park system.

The Facilities and Traffic Division maintains crosswalks at 405 different locations throughout the City and 195 traffic arrows at 72 different locations.
