Winter Storm 12/29/2020

Categories: Streets & Sanitation

Forecast are calling for four to sixes inches of snow Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning. The Department of Public Works has plow drivers on standby this evening.

Garbage is still scheduled to be collected on Wednesday, December 30, 2020.

The plows will focus on the main streets first and then move into the neighborhood streets.

End loader tractors are being dispatched at 3:00 a.m. to clean up the dead ends and cul de sacs.

A shift change for the plow drivers will take place Wednesday morning.

Please utilize any off-street parking.

Overnight winter parking regulations are in effect between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m.

Alternate Side Parking: Vehicles must alternate sides for overnight parking.

On odd-numbered days:
Between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m., vehicles shall only be parked on that side of the street having odd-numbered street addresses. (East and South Sides)

On even-numbered days:
Between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m., vehicles shall only be parked on that side of the street having even-numbered street addresses. (North and West Sides)

Streets posted with “No Parking” restrictions shall remain in effect; therefore are NOT under alternate side parking rules.

***The simple rule: PARK FOR TOMORROW***

The DPW asks that you follow our plows at a safe distance of at least 75 feet. Remember, it is better to be following a plow than driving in front of one. The road in front of the plow truck is still snow cover. Please use care when passing a plow truck. Some of the trucks have plows on both sides. Please remember to turn your headlights on any time that it is snowing.

The Department of Public Works asks for patience as we clear the over 200 miles of streets.
